Welcome to 1922 – the year where everything starts.

In the industrial town of Duchcov, young entrepreneur Hermann Hennlich founds a small trading company to supply local industries with essential goods like miner’s lamps. At just 22 years old, he starts this venture while building a new life with his wife Gertrud and their newborn son Hermann.

The war is over, a new spirit is rising, and 1922 marks the beginning of both a family legacy and the bold energy of the Roaring Twenties.

After the end of World War II, Hermann Hennlich began to rebuild the company in Austria. It was a time full of challenges, but also marked by innovation, courage, and solidarity – values that continue to define who we are today.

Meet Edith Zebisch, daughter of Hermann Hennlich. After years marked by floods, transformation, and steady growth, she stepped in to lead the company with strength, foresight, and determination. Under her leadership, HENNLICH entered a new era of resilience and innovation.

Flashback to 1986 – a time of transformation, technology, and tenacity.

At this stage in our journey, Hermann Zebisch steps into the spotlight. As the next generation of the family business, he faced major challenges, carried forward the HENNLICH legacy, and ushered in a new era by introducing the first computer to the company – a key step into the digital age.

Our journey through time takes us to 1997 – a year of bold expansion and global vision.

Under the leadership of Hermann Zebisch, HENNLICH began its international chapter by entering new markets in Eastern Europe. With the fall of the Iron Curtain, opportunities emerged – and Hermann seized them, establishing the company in Czechoslovakia, Slovakia, Hungary, and most recently, Slovenia.

With vision and determination, Hermann Zebisch led the company through an impressive phase of European expansion – extending our presence from Poland to Switzerland, and well beyond. What began as a family business had now grown into a thriving international network.

Today, HENNLICH is active in 16 countries – and counting.
